Music and learning

The teams from Caulfield Primary Early Childhood Centre and Janet Mundy Kindergarten had an interactive and engaging experience at their music session presented by Galina Zenin from Bonkers Beat last month. The session provided a wonderful opportunity for educators to develop our skills and confidence when integrating music into teaching practice.

Galina's passion, and dedication, for teaching young children and educators shone throughout her dynamic presentation.

Literacy and learning

The children and educators at Brookside Preschool had a wonderful time meeting Cameron Stelzer, the author of ‘The Stroogle’ series. He entertained us with a reading of one of his books and provided an insight into the key characters. Cameron was very patient with the children's list of questions they prepared before the visit. We all enjoyed the opportunity to learn how to draw 'The Stroogle'. The Brookside community felt very privileged to have had a ‘real life’ author at the kindergarten. He has inspired some truly amazing artistry! Special thanks to Brookside P-9 College, who facilitated the visit due to an ongoing partnership.

Celebrating Vesak day in Family Day Care

A number of ECMS family day care educators and children meet for regular playgroups. On 14th May educators and children discussed and celebrated Vesak Day otherwise known as Buddha’s Birthday.

Educator, Renuka made a beautiful lantern at home to celebrate this special occasion, the lantern was on display at playgroup.  Renuka provided some colourful paper for the educators to be able to make lanterns with the children to celebrate Buddha’s birthday. All the children who attended the playgroup made a lantern which then they were able to take home with them.
