Remus Way Preschool, located in Taylors Lakes, is passionate about building strong, secure relationships with children and their families. We believe when children feel safe with a sense of belonging in their learning environment they will succeed in their learning journey, reaching their full potential. Family and wider community involvement is encouraged to create a strong sense of community.

At Remus Way Preschool we acknowledge the Wurundjeri people, the traditional owners of the land we play and learn on. Different aspects of the Aboriginal culture are explored, and furthermore, cultural diversity within our community is recognised and respected.

We believe it is important children develop a strong awareness of their feelings and different emotions so they can show care, respect and empathy towards others. We use the zones of regulation and how full is your bucket story to consolidate their learning.

Here at Remus Way Preschool we are passionate about our natural environment.  Children are assisted to develop an awareness of human impact on the environment and living things. Together the principles of ‘Reuse, reduce, recycle and rethink’ are followed by planting and sharing produce with our community, composting, collecting and reusing recycled bottle tops and other materials in our art construction, and deconstructive play.

Continuous active engagement occurs within our preschool parent advisory group who raise funds to build on resources and projects that will benefit future generations of learning here at the preschool.

Facilities and programs

Remus Way Preschool features a large landscaped outdoor play area with a shaded area to protect children from the sun. The importance of physical activity and outdoor play is recognised and facilitated by recently renovated grounds which provide the perfect environment for children to play, explore and refine both gross motor and fine motor skills. In 2021 multiple types of bikes were purchased to educate children on the importance of road safety.

In 2019 an interactive smart board was acquired to help children identify and use technology in their everyday learning. Images and information are accessed both planned and spontaneously. This also helps children explore different perspectives through technology for fun and to make meaning of their world.

Our indoor/outdoor program enables children to make their own choices and express wonder and interest in their learning environment throughout their day.
