Werribee West Family Centre

On 18 December 2020, Early Childhood Management Service (ECMS) will no longer be providing childcare services at the Werribee West Family Centre.

ECMShas made the difficult decision to close the childcare service at Werribee West Family Centre, and Wyndham City Council accepts this decision.
Several extenuating circumstances have led to the service becoming unviable beyond 2020. This is due to the increase in supply of long day care places in the vicinity of Werribee West over the past two years, and the simultaneous decline in enrolments at the centre.

ECMS has undertaken significant scoping on current and proposed future supply and demand in this area of Wyndham and determined that it cannot continue to provide childcare services at the Werribee West Family Centre beyond 2020.

It is a difficult decision to close a centre that plays and has played such an influential and important role in the lives of many children and families. ECMS is working closely with Wyndham City Council and Werribee West Family Centre’s families and carers to ensure children can smoothly transfer to another centre or school at the end of the year.

We thank our educators and families for their understanding and ongoing support during this difficult time.

“All the carers are so friendly and always have time to say ‘Hi’. They are very welcoming and inclusive. The variety of toys and activities available for the children, especially the ‘organic play’, is fabulous. I love that my ideas are listened to and considered, and even welcomed. As a parent, being actively involved in my child’s care is very important.” Melissa J.

“I have been bringing my children to Werribee West Family Centre for the past six years. I am so thankful to all the staff for taking care of my children. I like how I get to see how my child is developing and learning through the use of Storypark. I love that the staff treat my daughter as part of their family. She really loves the centre, especially playing outside on the swings and in the sandpit.” Donna B.

If your child has additional needs, our teachers can connect your family with specialist support.

Meet our Centre Director

Hi, I’m Dianna Torzillo, the Centre Director of Werribee West Family Centre. I've been an early childhood professional for around 15 years working in both long daycare settings and OSHC (Out of School Hour Care). I completed my Diploma in children’s services in 2005 while also working in the sector. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work with a number of amazing organisations that have provided an array of experiences, skill, growth and opportunity.
After holding the position of Room Leader for four years, I assessed where I would like my career in early childhood to take me and decided to complete an Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood, with the ambition of becoming a Director of an Early Childhood Learning Service.  I completed my qualification in 2010.
After working extremely hard and dedicating myself to becoming a Director, I was given the opportunity and role at my last service in 2017.  I then decided to move closer to home to spend more time with my family and accepted the position of Centre Director of ECMS Werribee West Family Centre in March 2019.
As an Early Childhood Professional, I believe that all children are confident capable life long learners, and have the innate desire to explore, experiment and further their own development through play, with the guidance and support of our professional educators. Therefore as the Centre Director it is my role to support and guide our team, and provide them the tools they need to deliver high quality, individualised, inclusive early childhood education in beautiful, natural, safe environments for all our children.
My personal philosophy aligns strongly with our centre philosophy, which is founded in equitable, inclusive practice, embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and other cultures/perspectives into our teaching and learning programs for our children, families and community.
I also understand the importance of a child's family and families being children’s first teachers. Opening constant communication and building strong relationships with the families helps to cement both the children's and families sense of belonging in our service, and so I look forward to making these strong connections and tailoring the service to not only to meet the needs of our children but also meet  the needs of their families and the wider community.
I look forward to meeting you.
