We are delighted to announce the details for the 2018 Beyond Tomorrow Early Childhood Conference.
Date and venue
Beyond Tomorrow will be held on Friday 17 August 2018 from 8:00am to 5:30pm at the Moonee Valley Racecourse.
Following a successful change to a staff-only event in 2017, this year's conference will continue to be an exclusive event for ECMS staff.
Theme
The 2018 conference theme - Exceeding Expectations - emphasises the new guidance on determining the 'Exceeding' rating as part of the National Quality Standards. That is, ensuring quality practice is embedded in service operations, informed by critical reflection, and shaped by meaningful engagement with families and the community.
Keynote speaker
We are thrilled to confirm our 2018 keynote speaker, Rachael Robertson. Author of 'Leading on the Edge', Rachael Robertson (CSP, MBA) is a former Antarctic expedition leader, Chief Ranger and leader with 20 years of 'extreme' leadership experience. As only the second female to lead a team to Davis Station in Antarctica, she managed a diverse group of 120 people through total isolation, months of darkness, with no way in or out. It was a leadership laboratory in the most extreme and hostile environment on Earth.
Rachael completely embodies the theme of Exceeding Expectations and will share real stories, real insights, the highs and lows and ups and downs of being an authentic leader.
Program
We have an exciting program of expert speakers, presentations and interactive workshops to inspire and challenge our delegates to exceed expectations in their everyday practice. Like previous years, delegates will be able to select which sessions they wish to attend when they register online. The conference will end with an Awards Ceremony and Celebration Drinks. Trade fair
This year's conference will once again feature a trade fair with up to 30 exhibitors in the early childhood sector, including children's furniture, books and toys, medical supplies, insurance, superannuation and more.
