ECMS is pleased to announce it has successfully received a grant from the Department of Education and Training (DET) to coordinate a family outreach program pilot to improve participation of vulnerable children in kindergarten.
Along with a consortium of partners in Brimbank and Melton, the pilot program will employ early years outreach family support workers to carve a pathway for some of our most vulnerable children to participate in DET funded kindergarten programs before they start school.
Brimbank and Melton Councils along with TRY, BPA, Best Start, DET and Child Protection Services have formed a Steering Committee to govern this 12 month pilot ending in April 2017.
This is an exciting opportunity for ECMS to work towards more integrated practices across sectors to ensure vulnerable children are enrolled and participating in high quality pre-school programs in line with our State Government's aspirations to become the Education State.
