Family Day Care Australia recognises ECMS educator in the Northern Region

2 September 2015

ECMS's Darebin Family Day Care educator, Nivedita Bhambri, has been named the regional winner for Northern Suburbs in the 2015 Excellence in Family Day Care Educator of the Year Awards.

More than 2000 nominations were received from families, with educators judged on their commitment to providing quality early childhood education and care in a unique home based setting.

Since 2012 Nivedita has been operating her family day care business with ECMS in the suburb of Reservoir. Nivedita’s award comes in recognition of her dedication to outstanding early childhood education for the children she cares for.

“Nivedita treats the children in her care as her own children and the love and attention she provides for all the children is what makes them come back to visit even years after they have left care,” explains parent Susan Harding.

Nivedita’s respectful relationships and collaborative partnerships with her families really highlights the importance of involving families within the child’s learning environment.

Kelly Jackel, parent of Grace in Nivedita’s care says, “Nivedita has encouraged Grace's strength in verbal communication and identified areas for growth in problem solving, which we have really appreciated as parents and taken this feedback into Grace's home life… She has made Grace, my husband and I feel like a part of her extended family; she is a very special educator.”

Nivedita is a nominee in the state finals of the Excellence in Family Day Care Awards. The state winners will be announced later this month.

We congratulate Nivedita on her award and wish her the best of luck in the state finals.
