New Child Care Subsidy

16 March 2018

From 2 July 2018, Australia will have a new childcare package.

Under the new package, Child Care Subsidy (CCS) will replace the existing Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate.

As the sector prepares for these changes, there will be requirements for families who receive education and care services and organisations such as ECMS, to provide information to move to the new system successfully.

If you already get childcare fee assistance for approved care, the Government will write to you in April 2018 to let you know what you need to do.

You’ll need to provide extra information to be assessed for CCS. Find out more about what you need to do to get CCS if you currently get a child care payment.

You should prepare for these changes by creating a myGov account and linking your Centrelink online account. Read more about myGov and how to create a myGov account.

As the changes continue to be implemented, ECMS will keep you informed. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to speak with your Centre Director.
