ECMS educator recognised in SACS Leadership Awards

29 August 2014

QV Children’s Centre Director, Ratna Jie, has been acknowledged for her outstanding leadership with a nomination in the 2014 SACS Leadership Awards.

Now in their 9th year, the awards were established by consulting company, SACS, to recognise examples of true leadership in the state government & statutory authority, local government and not-for-profit sectors.

Ratna was nominated by colleagues in the not-for-profit, non-executive category for her work in transforming a struggling, unsustainable service and disengaged team into a high quality learning environment that meets the diverse needs of families.

Jodie Knox, ECMS General Manager of Quality, Research & Service Improvement, noted that ‘Ratna has been instrumental in transforming the culture at QV Children’s Centre and developing a values-driven team who strive to seek positive outcomes for the children, families and the wider community.’

Ratna’s colleague, Clare Cooper-Warneke, also praised Ratna’s leadership, saying ‘I have not worked alongside a more inspiring, driven and idealistic mentor. Ratna has helped me see potential in myself that I had long forgotten or thought possible. She has helped and encouraged my own personal growth an immeasurable amount in the last 18 months and I cannot thank her enough for all of her hard work, dedication and leadership.’

Ratna was joined by a number of colleagues at the SACS Leadership Awards dinner held at the Sofitel on Thursday 28 August 2014.  During the awards ceremony, Ratna was acknowledged for the valuable leadership role she plays at QV Children’s Centre.

ECMS congratulates Ratna on her award nomination and thanks her for her continued commitment to her colleagues and to the children and families at QV Children’s Centre.
