Romp & Stomp 2010 – Thousands join the fun!

On 27th October 2010, ECMS partnered with a host of early childhood organisations to run the Romp & Stomp Fun Day for Children at the Melbourne Museum as part of Children’s Week.
It was a popular event within the Children’s Week calendar, with 2785 people enjoying a sunny day, filled with creative and educational activities for all ages from 0 – 5. Hundreds of children visited our ECMS ‘Bug Fun, Stories and Craft’ area where they had the chance to listen to interesting stories featuring bugs and insects and other wonderful creatures, create their own bug antennae headbands or build pipe-cleaner spiders and butterflies. Our helpful educators from QV Children’s Centre, Maribyrnong River Children’s Centre and Early Years Coordinators and Staff from Head Office were kept busy assisting the bug-investigators.
Thank you to all those involved in making it a wonderful day for so many families, including all the ECMS students who submitted their artwork of bugs to be on display. We look forward to continuing our role on the Romp & Stomp committee in 2011 to strengthen our partnerships with other early years service providers and deepen our involvement in the community.
