How to get involved

We welcome parental involvement. You can help in many ways through kinder duty rosters, being involved with the programming, fundraising activities, serving on the Preschool Committee of Management or by using your talents and skills for the benefit of the children. Parents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles all can become involved.

Kinder Duty

A roster for kinder duty is put out each term for parents to complete. In order for the high quality of our programs to be maintained we require the assistance of parents during sessions. Kinder duty isn’t just preparing for snack time or washing up it also gives you the opportunity to:

• See your child at work
• Watch the group learn together
• Work with the children yourself
• See how the teacher provides learning experiences for the children
• Use your own talents to extend the program i.e.; playing a musical instrument
• Become part of your child’s first learning experience
• Observe your child
• Ask questions
• Discuss the program with the teacher
• Your child feels special when you are on duty and we love having you
• Younger siblings are welcome too

Special Talents

If you have any special talents whether it be cooking, dancing, playing an instrument, spinning wool, gardening or whatever, don’t be shy, tell us about it! Do not underestimate your abilities, as these can enrich the educational program and provide valuable learning experiences for the children.

Committee of Management

The preschool is run in partnership by ECMS and a Committee of Management, which is elected by parents at the Annual General Meeting. The Committee is entrusted by parents with the responsibility of managing the day to day running of the preschool. Being on the Committee of Management enables you to be a part of the running of the Preschool, and to help support you local community.
