How families can help

Interlaken Kindergarten needs parental assistance and participation to operate smoothly. The building and land are council owned, however the kindergarten community manage and maintain the kindergarten and all its facilities. We encourage and implement parent participation in both the children’s programs and the kindergarten committee of management.

Session Assistance

Parents volunteer via a roster to share some time and provide us with assistance at each session. Helping at our kindergarten gives you an opportunity to:

• See the program in action


• Discuss your child’s progress with the teacher.


• Spend valuable time with your child. (Children look forward to this and enjoy parental involvement)


• Supervise simple activities, games, etc.


• Prepare and assist with snacks


• Read stories
