Our Goal is to provide a happy and inviting environment where children develop a strong sense of identity and wellbeing, are connected with and contribute to their world and become confident and involved learners who are able to communicate effectively.
About us
- Glover Street Kindergarten is located in a quiet, residential street has been a part of the local community for over 50 years.
- Our staff are dedicated, highly trained Early Childhood Educators with many years experience in nurturing children’s development.
- We offer specialised 3 and 4 year old programs.
- Our award winning outdoor play area encourages children to explore and investigate. It includes an all weather covered decking for summer and winter play, vegetable gardens and water tanks, bike paths and tricycles, sand pits, cubby houses, a stage, a dirt and mud play area and a climbing fort with modifiable components for the abilities of differing age groups.
- We enjoy a strong parental involvement in the kindergarten programs and various social activities.
We strive to:
- Encourage our children to be active and creative explorers and enthusiastic learners.
- Provide a stimulating variety of play based learning experiences utilising paints, puzzles, games, crafts, dress ups, water play, books, music and singing, drama, play dough and a family play/home corner.
- Encourage children in cooperative play and assist them to develop respect for themselves and others.
- Support each child’s individuality and foster their independence.
- Respect and incorporate cultural identity within our program.
- Develop children’s understanding of environmental issues such as recycling, composting and water conservation.
Our programs
- Reflects the interests of the individual child and the group.
- Fosters self-esteem and confidence by incorporating show and tell, music, movement and dramatic play.
- Supports the formation of friendships and the practise of social skills and conflict resolution.
- Aims to develop pre-maths and pre-literacy skills, early writing and problem solving skills through play based activities.
- Promotes small and large muscle motor development through challenging indoor and outdoor activities.
- Utilises incursions and excursions to extend and develop various learning themes.
- Assists children in preparing for their transition to school.
