How families can get involved

At Frances Sullivan Preschool we value input from our families. Hobsons Bay City Council own the building and land and assist us with large maintenance issues but there are many other jobs which we rely on family support for, including working bees, weekly washing of smocks and towels, fundraising activities and session assistance to name just a few.

Session involvement

We encourage families to take part in our regular kindergarten sessions by rostering parents on a couple of times during the year. Helping out at kinder gives you an opportunity to:

• interact with your child in their special learning environment (The children really look forward to having a family member spend time with them at kinder!)


• participate in the program, to see what we do after you drop your child off with us.


• read stories, dig in the sandpit, push children on the swing, hang up wet art work…!


• meet your child’s friends and get to know staff better.


• view your child participating in the program and to gain a deeper understanding of their individual developmental progress.


• help out staff and children with ‘everyday tasks’~ wiping tables, washing dishes, sweeping, packing away equipment.


• share any special skills you may have ~ cooking, music, gardening, whatever you may have to offer!


• relax and have fun!!!
