At Eastona Park Kindergarten we strive to develop respectful, independent and confident individuals.
Our beliefs:
- We value diversity and believe each child and their family are unique. We strive to acknowledge this by accepting all cultural domains (eg nationalities, religious beliefs, customs, child rearing practices, community practices) and celebrate these within our program.
- We believe in a family centred approach where the whole family and their needs are supported wherever possible (eg through providing information regarding child development; language development; seeking out further advice, resources and specialists to meet identified needs; and school readiness assistance).
- We believe kindergarten assists children to prepare for their future schooling and it is therefore a vital step in your child’s education. In addition to preparing children for school, kindergarten also provides children with opportunities to learn skills to help them positively transition through their life’s journey.
Our program:
- The program at Eastona Park Kindergarten is planned to assist each and every child to develop at their own pace. Developmental areas include children’s social, emotional, language, communication, fine and gross motor, and cognitive (thinking and reasoning) skills.
- A group program is planned and evaluated regularly to ensure it meets the interests and needs of the group, as well as each individual child.
- We provide opportunities for the children to participate in individual, small and large group experiences of their choice, both indoors and outdoors, throughout each session.
- An individually personalised portfolio is created for each child, documenting their journey through their kindergarten year.
- We aim to teach the children an appreciation and respect for each other, themselves and their surroundings.
- We promote environmental awareness (eg through water awareness and our vegetable garden).
- As members of the ‘Kids – Go for your Life’ program we promote and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle
- Our program is complimented by a range of special events held throughout the year. These may include educational entertainers, school visits, children’s borrowing library, health and fitness, cooking and visits from community workers.

Our facilities:
- The indoor play area is spacious, allowing for a wide range of play experiences to be provided at any given time.
- The kindergarten has heating and air conditioning so the children are able to play in comfort all year round.
The playroom is also well lit with natural lighting.
