Welcome to Cambrian Kindergarten!
Cambrian Kindergarten joined up with ECMS in first term, 2011.
We believe that:
- All children are unique and should have the opportunity to reach their potential.
- Early experiences lay the foundations for future learning.
- Children are competent thinkers, problem-solvers, investigators, negotiators, inventors and lifelong learners.
- Children’s social development occurs through interaction with peers. All children learn how to engage with others, to respect themselves and others and understand the world around them.
- Families are the primary educators in a child’s life and we encourage a shared partnership between children, families and educators within our kindergarten community.
Our program:
- Offers a wide range of experiences designed to meet the individual needs of children.
- Is based on the national Early Years Learning Framework ‘Belonging, Being and Becoming’ and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework:
- Belonging is the basis for living a fulfilling life. Children feel they belong because of the relationships they have with family, community, culture and place.
- Being is about living here and now. Childhood is a special time in life and children need time to just ‘be’ – time to play, try new things and have fun.
- Becoming is about the learning and development that young children experience. Children start to form their identity from an early age, which shapes the type of adult they will become.
- Provides opportunities for children to express themselves through language, art and imaginative play.
- Provide opportunities to develop social skills including co-operation, sharing, and awareness.
