Welcome to Cambrian Kindergarten!

Cambrian Kindergarten joined up with ECMS in first term, 2011.

We believe that:

• All children are unique and should have the opportunity to reach their potential.
• Early experiences lay the foundations for future learning.
• Children are competent thinkers, problem-solvers, investigators, negotiators, inventors and lifelong learners.
• Children’s social development occurs through interaction with peers. All children learn how to engage with others, to respect themselves and others and understand the world around them.
• Families are the primary educators in a child’s life and we encourage a shared partnership between children, families and educators within our kindergarten community.

Our program:

• Offers a wide range of experiences designed to meet the individual needs of children.
• Is based on the national Early Years Learning Framework ‘Belonging, Being and Becoming’ and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework:
• Belonging is the basis for living a fulfilling life. Children feel they belong because of the relationships they have with family, community, culture and place.
• Being is about living here and now. Childhood is a special time in life and children need time to just ‘be’ – time to play, try new things and have fun.
• Becoming is about the learning and development that young children experience. Children start to form their identity from an early age, which shapes the type of adult they will become.
• Provides opportunities for children to express themselves through language, art and imaginative play.
• Provide opportunities to develop social skills including co-operation, sharing, and awareness.
