Welcome to Barbary Crescent Preschool!

Our centre is conveniently located next to Taylors Lakes Primary School and overlooks Lionheart Park.

We believe that:

• All children are unique and should have the opportunity to reach their potential.


• Early experiences in lay the foundations for future learning. Children are competent thinkers, problem solvers, inquirers, negotiators, inventors and lifelong self-directed learners.


• Children learn through investigation, exploration and play. We recognise play-based curriculum as central.


• Children’s social development occurs through interaction with peers. All children should be helped to engage with others, to respect themselves and others and understand the world around them.


• Parents are the child’s primary role model and teacher and value their participation in their child’s education. We acknowledge the importance of this relationship.

At our centre, your child will have the opportunity to make friends, be creative, learn new things, improve skills and gain new ones. Our programme is flexible and responsive to the children’s ideas, yet includes careful planning and resourcing. We provide a rich play based learning environment. Play can take many form, i.e.modeling, imitating, observing, experiencing, discovering, exploring, experimenting, problem solving and contemplating. These forms of play and children’s developmental level are taken into consideration as we plan the experiences, which form the basis of the educational program.

We allow children time to learn, time to play and time to enjoy! We strive to nurture each child’s unique qualities and potential. Our outdoor program provides a large grassy area for running and active games and intimate spaces where children can play alone or in small groups.
