The ECMS coordination unit

Family day care educators are managed by a coordination unit of fieldworkers who are responsible for the monitoring of care provided.

Fieldworkers are trained with many years of experience so they are able to offer ongoing support to educators through:

• Supporting and guiding educators in developing play environments that promote children’s independence, self esteem, creativity skills as well as extending their social, physical, emotional and intellectual development.
• Educators have unannounced visits on a 4-6+ weekly basis
• Conducting ongoing assessments and evaluations to ensure a high quality standard of care is met at all times, incorporating the changing needs of the families, educators and the community.
• Providing compulsory ongoing training.
• Organising playgroups for educators and children to attend.
• Providing written resources to assist educators.
