The ECMS coordination unit

Family day care providers are managed by a coordination unit of fieldworkers who are responsible for the monitoring of care provided.

Fieldworkers are trained with many years of experience so they are able to offer ongoing support to care providers through:

• Supporting and guiding carers in developing play environments that promote children’s independence, self esteem, creativity skills as well as extending their social, physical, emotional and intellectual development.
• Care Providers have unannounced visits on a 4-6+ weekly basis
• Conducting ongoing assessments and evaluations to ensure a high quality standard of care is met at all times, incorporating the changing needs of the families, carers and the community.
• Providing compulsory ongoing training.
• Organising playgroups for care providers and children to attend.
• Providing written resources to assist care providers.
