St Vincent's philosophy

Our aim is to provide a children’s program that meets the needs of individual children, their families and the community.

WE AIM TO:

  • Provide a warm, safe, caring, secure and welcoming environment for each child to complement the family unit.

  • Plan and implement age/stage appropriate experiences, which foster language, self-help, physical, social/emotional, fine, gross motor and cognitive skills.

  • Provide opportunities for children with special needs to be integrated in the program.

  • Maintain a high standard of health and hygiene and provide frequent nutritional meal breaks.

  • Be positive role models, to guide behaviour by example and interact with children in a way which encourages learning as a pleasant experience.

WE BELIEVE IN:

  • The need for children to feel respected, valued, happy and to have a high level of self-esteem.

  • Stimulating and encouraging children through a balance of structured spontaneous play and routines to help them learn about themselves and their environment, enabling them to reach their full potential.

  • Identifying and valuing the importance of parent involvement and actively encouraging their participation.

  • Reviewing and altering the centre’s philosophy as children and their families’ needs change.

  • Valuing and respecting staff individuality, knowledge, qualifications and experience and encouraging growth and positive team cooperation.
