MRCC philosophy
Together we will keep our minds and hearts open to provide a happy, healthy and loving environment to nurture each individual child.
As a team, we work in partnership with all our families to ensure that every child has the freedom to explore and experiment within a warm and caring atmosphere, promoting fun and the celebration of discoveries.
Maribyrnong River Children’s Centre believes in providing programs that meet the needs of individual children, their families and the community.
We work collaboratively, facilitating programs based on the following agreed beliefs:
- Children learn by doing
- The process of creativity is more important than the end product
- Each child’s unique creativity should be encouraged
- Understanding the unique needs of each child and family
- Ensuring that environments are set up based on individual and group interests
As early childhood educators, we believe in:
- Interacting with children and creating environments that allow children to realise their own potential
- Working in partnership with parents to record observations of children exploring their environment and presenting findings in individual and room journals, including family contributions
