Our philosophy
At Mossfiel Children’s Centre we believe that all children are unique and will develop as individuals at their own pace. We aim to provide an engaging and inviting environment that provides all children with the skills and confidence they need to grow to reach their full potential. We aim to provide an atmosphere that ensures all children feel happy, safe, secure, nurtured and cared for on a daily basis.
We believe that play is one of the most valuable ways in which children learn and grow as individuals and therefore we aim to provide all children with an environment that is designed to promote opportunities to explore and learn using all their senses.
In relation to the children, families, staff and the community:
- We believe that family is the most valuable connection to the children in our care. All staff aim to maintain the important link between home and child care by building strong partnerships through communication, support and understanding of each individual family philosophy and background.
- Staff will endeavour to work closely with each family to share information about their child’s interests and needs and to gain knowledge of family expectations.
- Families are encouraged to participate throughout the day and all feed back, thoughts and suggestions for our programs and daily operations of the service are always welcomed.
- We aim to provide an environment that reflects and acknowledges the individual culture’s, needs, values beliefs and opinions of our families, staff and community. We also pride ourselves in creating an environment that is welcoming, un-bias and respectful for all our families, children, staff and our community.
- To provide all of our families, children and staff with a support network based on each individual’s diverse experiences, knowledge and skills that we can share as a team to ensure that each child is provided with the highest quality of care.
- We believe that each staff member is a valuable resource to our service, families, children and community. We will to continue to provide staff with current training in all areas to ensure their knowledge and experience is continually extended on.
- All staff will provide a safe, caring environment that promotes each individual Childs strengths by extending on their interests through programming, fostering their self esteem and independence, encouraging and promoting relationship’s and communication, providing opportunities to develop physical and cognitive skills.
- To provide tailored programs both indoors and outdoors to suit the uniqueness of every child where their learning will be guided by extending on their interests. Our program will have experiences that help to develop children’s self esteem, problem solving skills, negotiating skills, communication, creative thinking, respect for one an other and their environment, relationship building and independence. Children’s learning will be guided by extending on their interests.
- The staff will endeavour to work together as a team to ensure that all children and families are provided the highest quality care by meeting their individual needs and respecting their cultures, values and beliefs.
Most importantly we aim to provide an atmosphere that is full of laughter, fun and lots of cuddles for all children.
