Professional Development

Professional development is a high priority at ECMS. We strongly believe that the delivery of quality services is requisite on the training and education of the staff who deliver it.

We ensure that staff have access to opportunities to both refresh and learn new skills through providing a variety of learning and development programs.

ECMS offers staff the following professional development opportunities:

Training

• First aid, anaphylaxis, manual handling and nominee training.
• Additional elective training based on the individual needs of staff.

The ECMS Conference

Each year ECMS holds an industry-leading early childhood conference comprising an engaging line-up of expert speakers and a diverse industry trade fair.
The ECMS Conference, which is attended by ECMS staff and those from other early childhood sector organisations, provides an excellent forum for attendees to share ideas and insights into early childhood education.

Professional development days

ECMS holds biannual professional development days enabling staff to learn from expert speakers and to participate in interactive sessions.

Study assistance

At ECMS we have a discretionary fund whereby staff can apply for financial assistance to undertake their study.

Traineeships

Where a new staff member is interested in obtaining childcare qualifications, ECMS can organise a traineeship for them to study Certificate III in Children’s Services. Likewise, traineeships are available for existing staff wishing to progress to their Diploma and Advanced Diploma.
