2009 Parent Surveys Results

Thank you to all the families that took the time to fill in their parent surveys, and congratulations to all staff on a fantastic result for 2009.

This year we recorded an increase in a number of important indicators. As staff we are reassured that our efforts are recognised by parents and children as our goal is to make a positive difference in their lives.

Our overall centre satisfaction rate was an outstanding 98.3%, with kindergartens receiving 97%, childcare 98% and family day care receiving an impressive 100%.

We also recorded a very high overall centre performance figure of 98.6%

Another impressive statistic is the staff evaluation.

• 96% of kindergarten staff were rated as good and very good.


• 92% of childcare staff were rated as good and very good.


• And 96% of family day care staff were rated as good and very good.

Parents voted the best features of our kindergartens and childcare centres as happy children, great staff, and good location.

The best features of family day care were happy children, great carers and good communication.

Altona Kindergarten - ‘The staff are very friendly and helpful and always make you welcome. They are very appreciative of any time parents can help out at the kindergarten.’

Caulfield Primary Early Childhood Centre - 'This is my second child through and both really enjoy/ed their time there. The staff are lovely.'

Keilor Gatehouse Preschool - 'The staff are fantastic, the kinder is fantastic and my child looks forwarded to kinder because she loves it and if she’s happy I’m happy. Keilor Gatehouse is one of the best kindergartens available in the west and my other child will definitely be going to this kinder too.'

Mossfiel Children’s Centre - ‘Extremely happy with the way the centre is managed, particularly in the last 8 months when there was a changeover of centre coordinator.’

St Vincent’s Early Learning Centre - 'Caring for several children at one time is not easy and I admire the staff for all they do for caring for my son. Hopefully the ratio will improve in the future. My son always has a big smile on his face when he sees their faces. I know that he is happy and if he is happy then I am happy. Keep up the great work!'

Family Day Care comments

'I am so happy that I decided to put my children into family day care. Their carer is absolutely fantastic & I think that I am very lucky to have my children placed with him!'

'I am very happy the way Amina looking after my children, she communicates well with children and provides a lot of information and ideas to me, and last my children love her and very comfortable at carer home.'
