How it works

ECMS as employer:

  • Employs staff, conducts performance reviews, manages human resources, payroll and leave provisions.
  • Meets all obligations as per the MECA 2005 and Early Childhood Assistants award (1999).
  • Provides training, professional development, staff meetings and staff conference.
  • Offers annual awards and scholarship to staff and conducts annual surveys to ensure parent and staff satisfaction and that we are meeting community needs.

ECMS as licensee:

  • Takes over the licence.
  • Becomes the funded agency.
  • Undertakes all tasks associated with compliance.
Kindergarten committee:
  • Retains its independent incorporated status.
  • Works closely with ECMS to ensure quality programs are delivered that meet the needs of the local community.
  • As a member of ECMS, delegates have voting rights.
  • Manage and control their own finances and fundraising activities.
  • Receives bookkeeping support, including assistance with monthly financial statements, business activity statement (BAS) and budgets.
  • In partnership with ECMS ensures that the kindergarten maintains its individuality and sense of community and has involvement with the team.
